Riot Games this week declared victory over the infamous League of Legends rank inflation issues. The development team has suggested that things have “gone down a lot” and League players are already reporting that their ranks are getting closer to their expected skill levels.
How to Get Out of Every League Rank
One of Riot's biggest goals this season in League is to get the league's wildly fluctuating ranks under control, something lead balance manager Matt "Phroxzon" Leung-Harrison admitted when 2024 kicked off in January.
Six months later, things appear to have been resolved: Leung-Harrison told a happy League player base on June 20 that he believes most players’ visual ranks will now look closer to their real-world skill levels after Patch 14.13 goes live. This, in turn, should go a long way toward “making games feel fairer” in competitive queues and offsetting how one-sided lobbies could become if one or two talented players were incorrectly placed.
This (should) mean that anyone struggling at the lows of a higher rank (e.g. the low end of Platinum) should now stick around a lower rank (e.g. Gold).
