I have always been interested in detailed simulations in which a man fights and overpowers nature. Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is an exciting example of a certain subgenre of driving simulations, offering relentless fun in overcoming obstacles.
Expeditions: A MudRunner Game Review
Minimalist in story but meticulously detailed in execution, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game presented me with a healthy dose of challenge without ever becoming frustrating. I found myself fully immersed in my tasks of delivering goods once I had the hang of it.
This type of game (which I like to call Spintires) is based on a simple premise: you drive your vehicle from point A to point B without a road in between. You start each mission from your home base, where you can choose from dozens of vehicles and equipment. Vehicles are categorized by size, power, carrying capacity, and fuel consumption.
Where this game shines is in the impressive physics engine and the level of detail that developers have put into the way your vehicle operates. As a delivery driver, it is up to you to tackle the unwelcome nature. The amount of control you have over your vehicle is impressive, as is the vehicle damage model.
