In July 2020, Microsoft and Xbox announced the return of one of the most iconic fantasy RPG series of the original Xbox generation. While not much is known yet, the teasers we’ve seen for the Fable remake paint an intriguing picture of a world we haven’t seen in a while.
I'm worried about the Fable reboot
The original Xbox had a lot of great worlds for gamers to explore. From the rings of Halo: Combat Evolved to the rich, lore-filled world of the original Fable, there were a lot of options for players to jump into. So when Xbox revealed a short teaser trailer for a Fable remake, the company immediately had my attention.
Despite a strong start with Fable and Fable II, the series fell into obscurity after Fable III. Fans were very fond of the series, but after Fable III there were only knock-off games like Fable Heroes, which completely removed the original elements that many, including myself, had fallen in love with.
Seeing that title reappear in a teaser trailer, before a full-fledged game, felt amazing. All the memories came flooding back, like the first time I accidentally hit the wrong person during a mission early in the game.
