Update (5:44 p.m. ET): Facebook Newsroom appears to be back online, which could mean the company is getting closer to resolving the outage.
Update (4:23 p.m. ET): Facebook is still down and while they're not sharing many details, Facebook has publicly apologized for the outage and said they are "experiencing network issues." Update (2:24 PM EDT): New reports have started to surface that the DNS A and AAA records for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have been wiped.
