Facebook announced Wednesday that it has begun rolling out a new design for the Settings page, with the company saying it wants to "make tools easier to find."
How to Change Your Facebook Privacy Settings (Step-by-Step Tutorial)
This new design has led some, like tech news site TechCrunch, to be skeptical of Facebook’s goals. TechCrunch pointed out that in 2018, Facebook decided to make privacy tools easier to find by centralizing them into Privacy Shortcuts. The new direction seems to indicate that Facebook has reversed that earlier decision.
The new location of the privacy settings is unknown, and TechCrunch points out that users will have to dig through the new settings menu to figure out how to configure privacy.
The settings redesign also moved several other settings so that they sit next to related topics. Settings are now grouped into six different categories: Account, Preferences, Audience, Visibility, Permissions, Your Info and Community Standards, and Legal Policies.
