Facebook says it is testing an artificial intelligence-powered moderation technology in Groups to limit conflict in posts and comments.
Facebook's new AI tool to moderate group fights
The new AI-powered tool is called Conflict Alerts and is intended to give group admins more control over their communities. The AI technology will alert an admin when “controversial or unhealthy conversations” are spotted, allowing an admin to take appropriate action more quickly.
For the average Facebook user, this new tool means that there will likely be less bickering and discussions in posts from groups you follow, and overall, less negative posts.
Admins can use the Conflict Alerts tool to create alerts when users comment with specific words or phrases, and machine learning can recognize these instances to alert an admin when they occur. The tool also allows admins to restrict activity for specific people and messages.
