Last night at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple gave non-Apple users an unexpected treat, revealing that FaceTime would finally be coming to Android and Windows. Up until last night, FaceTime had only been available on Apple devices, as one of those exclusive features that kept users locked into the Apple ecosystem. Making FaceTime available for the two major operating systems is definitely a step in the right direction.

According to WWDC 2021, FaceTime is finally coming to Android. That doesn’t mean it’ll be as functional as its Apple counterpart, though. At the time of writing, there’s no FaceTime app in the Google Play Store. Currently, the only way to use FaceTime — on Android and Windows — is through a browser.
