FileHippo App Manager (formerly Update Checker) was a free software updater that allowed you to scan your computer for outdated software. To do this, you used a private collection of freeware on FileHippo.com. You could then download the latest version directly from the program to your computer.

This tool was very useful because it supported internal updates, meaning you didn’t have to exit the updater and download updates manually. The Download & Run button would instantly download the updated software and start installing it.

When it worked, it worked well. It was easy to use with no extra, unnecessary settings, and it found and updated outdated programs for almost everything on our test computer.
