Ahead of Final Fantasy XIV's Dawntrail expansion, the Square Enix team shared a benchmark download for players to see if their hardware could handle the upcoming graphics update that was shipping alongside the 7.0 update. At the same time, dataminers discovered and shared Dawntrail's Artifact Armor sets.
Asmongold Responds to FFXIV Dawntrail – Graphics Update
The Artifact Armor sets in Final Fantasy XIV are the final pieces of armor players will receive when completing an expansion story. They’re certainly not the last endgame armor sets, as this is just the beginning of a solid, months-long grind for some of the best gear in the game, but they are some of the nicest armor sets players can find, and there’s an entire thread showing them off. The upcoming thread could be a deciding factor for Final Fantasy XIV players who aren’t yet sure what class they should be in when they complete Dawntrail.
The full thread is over on Reddit in the Final Fantasy XIV subreddit. Like many of the previous Artifact Armor sets in the series, these are some of the best-looking sets Square-Enix has crafted for the expansion, and it's the first time we're seeing them with the upcoming 7.0 graphics update, which makes many of them really pop.
Fans immediately noticed some minor changes. User Sera07 wrote, "I love that velvety texture they gave some of the fabrics like RDM and BLM. Looks… lush. I want to touch it." This was followed by community member Drawtaru who pointed out "a TRANSPARENT SLEEVE on the dancer??"
