One of the most helpful features has to be Slack’s new pronunciation tool, which lets you record how to say your name correctly so people can get it right the first time. Hover Cards are added as introductory windows for quick glances at a person’s information. And users’ profiles now include more information.
For the name pronunciation feature, anyone can go to your profile and listen to the recording. You can also type the phonetic pronunciation of your name directly below the recording. Hover Cards appear when you hover over a person's profile picture.
In the Hover Card, you’ll get a shortened profile description and buttons to directly contact that person via message or call. Both Hover Cards and the pronunciation of the name are currently rolling out to users; all you need to do is update Slack.
