The AI functionality is completely optional, the company said in a blog post. It is private and supports user choice from the start.
“This work is part of our improvements to multitasking and cross-referencing in the sidebar, and we’re committed to following the principles of user choice, agency, and privacy as we bring AI-powered improvements to Firefox,” Mozilla said in the post. “To start, this experiment will only be available to Nightly users, and the AI functionality will be entirely optional. It’s there in case it’s useful, but it’s not built into any core functionality.”
Of course, Firefox isn’t the only system offering AI capabilities. The browser joins Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, and Pinocchio in the AI browsing space.
