The First Descendant's launch was a bit of a struggle, with server instability, crashes, and the inability to play the game. Not all games have the smoothest launches, but Nexon developer Leebumjun held a livestream where he took responsibility for the issues and promised that improvements are on the way.
The First Descendant FINALLY someone is listening! New 1.0. 7 Patch is awesome!
It’s not every day that a developer watches livestreams, holds his hands up, and acknowledges the mistakes he’s made. Leebumjun is one such man who felt the community deserved an apology and Nexon’s future plans for The First Descendant.
The developer began by expressing his gratitude to all the players who enjoyed The First Descendant and thanked them for sticking with the game even during the recent difficult period. "There are a lot of things I need to apologize for," he said, before touching on the issues with the servers, Microsoft Azure and a delay with the payment and notes that he should have prepared well in advance.
While some developers were happy to bury their heads in the sand, it was nice to see Leebumjun take responsibility for Nexon's mistakes and show the community a personal side of the men and women behind the creation of the video game medium.
