Betsy Brandt is about to go bad again… at least, if her character in the new Lifetime movie The Bad Orphan is anything like a certain real-life character her character might remind audiences of.

The film is fiction and is not based on the infamous story of the adoptive parents of Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian-born girl with dwarfism, who was suspected of being an adult posing as a child by her new mother and father. However, some of its central elements are quite similar to that real-life nightmare.
Breaking Bad's Brandt serves as both the lead and executive producer of the recently approved film, in which she appears as Jessica, a mother of one who decides to adopt an 8-year-old named Gabby (Chloe Coco Chapman, in her first-ever role) with her husband Karl (Mark Taylor). However, things sour between Jessica and Gabby when Jessica begins to suspect that Gabby isn't who she says she is, as she exhibits disturbing and unsettling behavior.
Eve Edwards also stars in the film, which is currently in production and will air as part of Lifetime's summer series.
