For the first time in over two years, Fnatic defeated G2 Esports in a best-of-five series in League of Legends. With their victory, Fnatic reached the finals of the 2024 LEC Summer Split.
#LEC Match of the Week: Fnatic vs G2 Esports
Fnatic started the July 22 series with a loss, with G2 taking home the first game. But they rose to the challenge with two quick wins in the next two games, with Humanoid and Noah stealing the show. G2 fought back in game four, and it all came down to the final match, with the famous League song Silver Scrapes playing in the background.
In the fifth game, Razork finally got to pick Nidalee. The jungler had been banned in the previous four games. It was a crucial pick for his team, as the Spanish jungler helped his teammates secure early leads, especially in the top and mid lanes. After taking the lead, Fnatic did not leave the driver’s seat, with the only real threat to G2 being Hans Sama. However, their ADC was often quickly taken down by Fnatic’s players.
