It's been a tough day for Five Nights at Freddy's fans, who are celebrating the game's 10th anniversary. Franchise creator Scott Cawthon hinted at a major collaboration earlier today, with many Fortnite fans and leakers betting it would be the battle royale, but that's not the case.

The FNAF announcement came just hours after Cawthon announced it, sending fans scrambling to find out more about the collaboration via a different social media account. Fans were in a frenzy for hours trying to figure out which game would get the distinctive crossover. Fortnite seemed like a solid choice for many fans. With so many FNAF games, the crossover could have included any of the killer animatronics shown off.

Instead, it was Dead by Daylight that came up trumps, with Behaviour Interactive sharing the official announcement alongside confirmation that it would be releasing in Summer 2025. We don’t have an exact time within that window or what this collaboration will entail. Given previous Dead by Daylight collaborations, we can expect a handful of different killers from FNAF hunting down various Survivors in a one-on-four game of cat and mouse.
