Fortnite brought back Tilted Towers and parts of the OG map in the new Reload mode, featuring near-infinite respawns, vault loot, and random teammates.

Unfortunately, Reload is designed for squads, which has multiple Fortnite players upset that they can’t play the mode solo instead of with teammates who head to the other side of the map. “Can’t people just enjoy a new game mode? I’d rather not play with fill and get a bunch of 6 year olds. I just want to enjoy game modes but they’re all only for four people,” one player wrote in a Reddit thread on June 22.
Technically, you can play Fortnite Reload solo by setting your matchmaking settings to No Fill, but doing so destroys the mode’s core mechanics. You can only respawn after death if your squad is still alive, and teammates can even shorten your respawn timer by scoring kills and clearing other squads. In a squad, you can respawn almost infinitely until respawns are disabled in the late game. If you’re playing solo, your match will automatically end after your first death, with no second chances.
Fortnite players agreed that Reload should have a solo mode with a dedicated respawn feature. One player cited Call of Duty's solo Resurgence mode, where you have a solo timer and if you die before the timer runs out, it's game over.
