Remember Foursquare? Well, now it’s back with Marsbot for AirPods, an audio augmented reality app that comments on the things and places around you. All you have to do is wear your AirPods.

With the AirPods Pro in Transparency mode, it’s supposed to feel like someone is walking beside you, providing interesting facts and local recommendations about whatever you pass. Foursquare bills Marsbot as a virtual assistant, but what could you use it for, aside from restaurant recommendations?

“We built Marsbot for AirPods to feel like you’re walking down the street with a friend who knows everything about the city and is constantly pointing out the most interesting things to you,” Foursquare’s Dennis Crowley wrote in a blog post. “Many of the notifications are designed to help you notice places and things you might never have noticed, even if you’ve walked past them 100 times.”

This is an interesting time to launch an app that revolves around going out. And yet it is also the perfect app to have some company while taking a walk in your city with appropriate distance.
