Samsung has finally lifted the curtain on its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, during its Unpacked event in Paris. The tech giant's latest offerings bring a mix of refinements and notable upgrades, aiming to cement Samsung's position at the forefront of the foldable market.
Samsung Z Flip 6 / Z Fold 6 review – Make no mistake!
The Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung’s foldable book model, retains the familiar form factor but features some useful improvements. It has a 7.6-inch main display with a staggering 2,600 nits peak brightness, allowing content to be visible even in bright sunlight. The cover screen gets a slight upgrade to 6.3 inches, offering more room for quick interactions.
Under the hood, the Z Fold 6 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM. While the camera setup remains unchanged from its predecessor, the device is a touch lighter, at 239 grams – a welcome change for users who found previous versions a little on the heavy side.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6, on the other hand, brings more substantial upgrades. The clamshell foldable now sports a 50MP main camera, a significant jump up from the 12MP sensor of its predecessor. Battery life, often a sore point for Flip users, gets a boost with a larger 4,000mAh battery. The Flip 6 also gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 treatment and an upgrade to 12GB of RAM.
