Garmin Forerunner 945 review and unboxing – One day first impressions
The Garmin Forerunner 945 Premium Running Smartwatch is the brand's latest full-GPS fitness watch, aimed at runners and triathletes. The Forerunner 945 features sport-specific metrics for swim tracking, optical heart rate, GPS with color on-screen mapping, plus a host of features that athletes who train in alpine environments will find most useful.
Truly packed with features, this watch also has a variety of smartwatch widgets for music, contactless payments, safety alerts, and personalized training plans known as Garmin Coach that can be synced to the Garmin Connect app. The FR9454 isn’t without its critics, though, and we’ll be comparing it to some of its predecessors that now sell for considerably less.
We tested this watch on a series of daily trail runs and a 10-mile hilly run to get a feel for its training features and what it would be like to race with this watch.
