If you’ve been waiting to jump on the streaming game bandwagon, now might be the time. NVIDIA’s long-awaited cloud gaming service, Geforce Now, is available to anyone with a Windows PC, Mac, NVIDIA Shield, or Android device.

Google’s competing service, Stadia, received mediocre reviews when it launched in November 2019. Reviews focused on the reliability of the network and the fact that you have to buy (or re-buy) games and a special controller for the service.

Geforce aims to solve the latter problem by working with any Steam, Epic, or other digital gaming platform games you already own. If you buy a game from one of these outlets and let your Geforce Now membership lapse, you can still play the game (assuming you have hardware that can run it).

What Geforce Now does is give you access to games that would normally require a high-end gaming machine on a lower-powered computer or Android gadget that you already own. Think of playing The Witcher on a regular PC and you'll see the benefit.
