Genshin Impact, the long-awaited and hugely hyped open-world action RPG, finally released a few weeks ago and it will come as no surprise that it is a cross between Spellbreak and Breath of the Wild.

Genshin Impact does indeed utilize an avatar-like elemental combo system that, while not as complex as Spellbreak, still requires some foresight and understanding to utilize to its full potential.

Every element in Genshin Impact is connected to both the game’s extensive worldbuilding (seriously, an actual Genshin Impact manga is currently in the works) and its character system, with each element corresponding to one of Teyvat’s mythical deities – the Archons – and one of the world’s major cities.
