If you have an office filled to the brim with old laptops, Google has come up with a new way to breathe some life into them.
Google Announces Chrome OS Flex || Easily Turn Your PC or Mac Into a Chromebook || Kumar Venkat
The company just unveiled a service called Chrome OS Flex, a software package that lets you turn old Macs and PCs into Chromebooks, Google announced in an official blog post.
If this sounds familiar, Chrome OS Flex is a rebranding of CloudReady, a Chromium-based operating system that Google acquired in December 2020. CloudReady’s original goal was to extend the lifespan of older PCs that were no longer receiving official updates. Chrome OS Flex serves a similar purpose, just wrapped in a new version of Chrome OS.
Chrome OS Flex offers many of the same features as the original Chrome OS, including a built-in Chrome browser, cross-device integrations, cloud syncing, fast boot times, background system updates, and the same Google Assistant found on modern Chromebooks.
