Recent leaks and rumors suggest that Google is looking to monetize its Gemini-powered AI chatbot Bard. The news comes amid a slew of new features Google has been working on to update its AI chatbot in 2024. Here’s a look at what to expect from Bard in the new year.
Google's Bard Advanced Revealed! And It'll Be Paid!
Bard is currently powered by the new Gemini Pro model, due out in December 2023, which is the most advanced LLM Google has made yet. But recent leaks suggest that a higher tier could be in development – one that would be available to users via a Google One subscription.
The upgraded version of Bard, now known as 'Bard Advanced', was first spotted by X user Roussel and will run on Gemini Ultra. It is possible that it will be available for free for 3 months to Google One subscribers. Speculation has subsequently emerged that it will be bundled into Google One itself, potentially suggesting a price increase to the Google One membership itself.
Bard Advanced is expected to be a "larger language model with advanced mathematical and reasoning capabilities," according to Roussel's findings. While Google has yet to confirm these speculations, the leaks come from a source that has previously been vocal about upcoming Bard features.
