Google Calendar is getting a new focus feature that will automatically block events that conflict with your focus time.
📆 Google Calendar Tips & Tricks
In a Google Workspace Update published on Wednesday, the tech giant explains that the new Google Calendar entry type is called Focus Time, and it works similarly to an Out of Office event type. When you block off a Focus Time, you have the option to automatically decline any meetings or events scheduled during that time period.
Focus Time is represented by a headphone icon in Google Calendar, but you can choose to assign a new color so that your Focus Time has a separate visibility from your events and other meetings. Your scheduled Focus Time can also be tracked in your Time Insights to provide better control over your time management during your workday.
Google has said that the feature will be gradually rolling out to users over the next week and into November. It's important to note, however, that Focus Time is only available to specific Google Workspace customers, such as those with Business Standard and Business Plus. Users with Google Workspace Essentials or G Suite Basic won't be able to use the feature for now.
