Before the glorious era of smartphones, people used to carry notepads and pens with them to jot things down like cavemen. In the golden age of smartphones that can do more than us lowly humans, the art of taking notes has been completely taken over by apps, and Google Keep is at the top of the list.

While there are dozens of other note-taking apps for Android, Google Keep’s seamless integration, cross-platform support, and bare-bones simplicity are what make it so great. But those are all things you probably already know about, but do you really know everything Google Keep can actually do? Here are our two cents on the coolest Google Keep features available right now that you might not have realized.

Those of you who have already embraced Google Assistant may know that you can use it to set all sorts of reminders. But more importantly, the Reminder feature is also built into the Google Keep app, so you never lose track of anything, whether it’s location-based or time-based.

Once you have created a note that you want to be reminded about, tap the Reminder icon in the upper right corner of the screen. The Add Reminder window lets you set the date, time, and place that you want to set the reminder for. Since you can add images, checklists, and more to notes, it provides more interactive reminders.
