The 15th anniversary Google Maps update that rolled out in February 2020 included new public transit features to help commuters. To take advantage of these Google Maps updates, make sure you're running the latest version of the mobile app.

Google regularly releases updates to Google Maps to ensure accuracy and improve directions. If your smartphone or tablet is set to automatically update Android apps, these new features will be available immediately. However, if you want to make sure you have the latest version, you can perform a manual update.

To update Maps for Android:

Open the Google Play Store app and tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner.
