Update July 7, 2020: Google has increased the number of participants allowed in each video call to 32 participants. This increase is a result of the growing popularity of Google Duo competitors that allow you to have up to 100 participants in a single video call.

When it comes to creating industry-leading software, few can match Google. The Mountain View company has tried its luck in many sectors of the industry, and in most of them, it has crushed the competition. This time, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has turned its attention to video calling, and we’re glad it did.
Google currently has three video calling solutions: Meet (formerly known as Hangouts Meet), Hangouts, and Duo. All three are great in their own right, but if we had to reject one option, we’d have to go with regular Hangouts. Hangouts, while it has some advantages, doesn’t offer anything that the other two lack.
