We purchased the Google Nest Hub Max so that our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and review it. Read on for our full product review.
Google’s original Nest Hub showed why a smart assistant with a screen can be a good thing, packing a decent range of features into a compact, attractive form factor. The Next Hub Max, however, takes things to the next level, adding a larger screen, a Nest Aware front-facing camera, and improved audio quality in a larger footprint to boot.
Still, Google’s upscaled smart display blends in well with its surroundings and offers a host of nuanced benefits that make it a welcome addition to any connected home. I spent several weeks testing out the Nest Hub Max, testing out its smart home connections, remote camera capabilities, and a host of other capabilities.
Despite its “Max” branding, the Google Nest Hub Max doesn’t feel overly large. It looks like a slimmer, dangling iPad attached to a small, angular base, and that base is the speaker. It’s nearly 10 inches wide and just over 7 inches tall, but its base is only 4 inches deep. That means you won’t need much countertop or shelf space to place it, plus the large, rubber foot on the bottom keeps it from sliding around on surfaces.
