It seems like our devices are getting smarter every day, and our lives are becoming more reliant on internet connectivity. This added layer of digital complexity has led to the rise of AI assistants to help us bring some order to the chaos. But the Google Nest Hub is more than a simple digital assistant: it’s a digital photo frame, a powerful speaker, and a miniature television in one compact device.

The Nest Hub is a strikingly beautiful device, with lots of rounded edges and no sharp corners. The white 7” screen gives it a brighter tone, and the gray fabric base adds to the overall design ethos of a device meant for the living room, not a dark, secluded computer room. This soft aesthetic even extends to the gently curved power adapter.

In terms of durability, you don’t want to get it wet or drop it, but it’s not a fragile flower. We liked the weight of the unit, heavy enough that you don’t have to worry about it tipping over. It’s also small enough that it’s not hard to find a good spot for it, with a long enough power cord that it won’t get in the way of placement.
