Google has launched a revamped Google Podcasts app, which is now available on iOS devices for the first time.
Google Podcasts is Gone: The Best Podcast Apps to Replace Google Podcasts
What's new: In addition to the iOS app, Google Podcasts for web is gaining support for subscriptions. The app itself now has three tabs: Home, Explore, and Activity. Home gives you a feed of new episodes, while giving you easy access to the shows you're subscribed to. Tapping on an episode to listen will bring up a list of topics or people mentioned in the "cast," and you can quickly jump to a Google search about them from the list.
The Explore tab shows you new podcasts related to your interests, as well as lists of popular podcasts. You can even customize your personal recommendations right from this Explore tab. The Activity tab populates with your history as you use the app, so you can jump back and see what you’ve already listened to. Listening progress is also synced across all devices, whether you’re using Android, iOS, or the web.
When can I get the app: iOS users can download the new app today, and Android users will get the new design sometime this week.
