Google has made some changes to its search engine to show you more relevant information and give you a better idea of how reliable your results are.
10 Google Search Tips That 99% Of People Don't Know
Google has unveiled a number of improvements to the way it collects and presents search results, along with updated tools that make judging the legitimacy of those results a lot easier. So, at the very least, you won’t have to rely so much on advanced searches to find what you’re looking for.
Featured snippets (the first non-sponsored result) have been adjusted so that Google's systems can cross-reference other sources it considers trustworthy to seek consensus. In other words, the featured snippet must be something that multiple sources agree on, so that the information is more likely to be accurate. On the other hand, featured snippets are now downplayed (or simply not used) when a query doesn't have a real answer.
Google is also improving search results so that the "About This Result" feature includes details that make it easier to determine the trustworthiness of a source. These include how often a source is shared, ratings of that source, what company owns the source, and whether Google can even find legitimate details about the source.
