Google has finally added a dark mode to its desktop search.
How to Enable or Disable Dark Mode in Chrome with One Click (PC & Laptop)
On Thursday, Google announced that it would finally be bringing its Dark theme to Google Search Desktop. The feature is already available for some, and will roll out to the rest of the world in the coming weeks as it rolls out in a phased release.
The dark theme has been available on Google Search Mobile for a while now, but this is the first time that Google has officially released a dark mode for the desktop version of its search pages. When enabled, the dark theme completely replaces Google Search's usual white background with a darker version that may be easier on the eyes for many users.
Users can enable the option in the Appearance section of the Google Search settings menu. When enabled, dark mode will be turned on for the Google homepage, search page, search settings, and more. Some users were able to activate dark mode thanks to a pop-up that appeared at the top of the search page, though the availability of this notification may vary by user.
