Google wants to expand its Google TV platform by adding more features and working more closely with streaming services.

In a recent interview, Google TV Director of Product Management Rob Caruso specifically pointed to adding smart home and fitness capabilities to the platform. He also revealed that he’s working on repairing the company’s relationship with Netflix.
Caruso didn’t provide any details on what features people can expect to see on their Google TV devices, but he did provide an overview of the general direction the platform is heading. The team wants to integrate smart home capabilities and expand video calling capabilities, such as adding Zoom to Google TV.
Fitness is another area developers are looking at, according to Caruso, which could involve integrating Google's line of exercise equipment and services.
