Google's new Pixel Buds Pro earbuds were announced on Wednesday at the tech giant's I/O 2022 conference, with features for audiophiles and athletes alike.
Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 – ALL the details Google didn’t tell you!
Packed into a small form factor are custom speakers and a 6-core audio chip running Google’s proprietary algorithm. The Pixel Buds Pro add features like Multipoint connectivity (for easy switching between devices) and active noise cancellation (ANC), a first for the Pixel Buds line.
The Pixel Buds Pro offer multiple ways to control sound, including Silent Seal, which works with ANC to block out the outside world even if the buds don’t quite fit in your ear. There are also built-in sensors that measure pressure in your ear to ensure a comfortable fit. Google is also offering Volume EQ, to actively adjust volume and maintain a balanced sound no matter your environment. Google says spatial audio will be supported in the future, but didn’t give a firm date for when.
Other features include Transparency Mode to let in ambient sound so you can hear the outside world, and a water resistance rating of IPX4. The case itself is rated at IPX2, which means it can handle a few splashes of water, but isn’t waterproof.
