Gray Zone Warfare has some major crashing and performance issues, but the early access extraction shooter has a temporary solution until one of its biggest gameplay problems is fixed: cohesion.

The biggest flaw in Gray Zone Warfare and will the game survive?

In the game's first community update post, Gray Zone Warfare developers at MADFINGER Games commented on the frequency of unavailable helicopters, saying that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. According to them, the lack of readily available helicopters is "an unintended side effect of the number of solo players, which is higher than we expected."

Regardless of which faction you select in GZW, every player has at least once experienced a transport helicopter being unavailable because there were too many "birds in the sky." In GZW, there is a finite number of helicopters that can be active per faction, forcing players to wait for a pickup or drop-off. While the ride from base camp to the nearest town can take as little as 10-20 seconds, a ride across the map to landing zones with points of interest can take several minutes each way.

While a permanent fix is being discussed, the developers are encouraging players to use their microphones and voice chat while in base camp to specify which LZ their summoned helicopter is heading to, so that anyone who wants to go to the same spot can hop on. While you’re in a dangerous area or point of interest on the other side of the map, you can open the map and right-click on a faction member’s icon to send them a text message letting them know that a helicopter is approaching or about to be summoned.
