Since the backlash it received over the implementation of Windows Recall, Microsoft has made more than a few mixed statements about the status of its upcoming Windows AI feature. According to the latest reports, it appears that Windows will get an option to remove Recall.
Microsoft confirms Windows 11 rollback feature cannot be removed
That's right! Microsoft lets you completely remove Windows Recall from Copilot+ PCs. This will be possible via the 'Turn Windows features on or off' window.
Simply uncheck 'Revoke' in the 'Turn Windows features on or off' window, click 'OK' and restart your system.
This is the second time Microsoft has gone back on its word about whether Windows Recall can be removed entirely. A few weeks ago, when Windows Recall was spotted as part of “Turn Windows features on or off,” Windows senior product manager Brandon Leblanc had said that the feature list was “a bug” that would be fixed in an upcoming update.
