It’s hard to form new habits, but tracking your progress can be a motivator. That’s why there are so many habit-tracking apps. Habituator stands out for its sleek yet playful design, integration with system features like Apple Fitness, and widgets that make it easy to check off habits without opening the app.

The app, from indie developer Alain Caltieri, is free for up to three habits with no ads and all features included. For more habits, you’ll need to pay $9.99 per year or $19.99 for a lifetime purchase.
Getting started is easy: just add a few habits. There are templates built in for everything from drinking water to walking regularly. Fitness-based habits can be monitored automatically using data from Apple Fitness, while other habits are monitored manually in the app, on your Apple Watch, or using one of the built-in widgets.
There is a lot of flexibility here. For example, if you only run on certain days of the week, you can set that up. You can also set certain habits to happen multiple times a day, or set notifications to remind you to stick to your habits.
