Wildfire north of Los Angeles destroys over 40 square kilometers
Today, after a series of mostly spot fires across the region in recent weeks, Los Angeles is partially surrounded by fires: one in La Tuna Canyon, two more in the Angeles National Forest, one in Redlands, another north near Palmdale and a sixth — the largest in the state this year — continues to burn inland from Santa Barbara.
Results from the past 24 hours have included evacuations, highway and road closures, building protection measures and a search for a group of teenagers believed to be near the flames.
One of the current fires is a wildfire that is currently burning approximately 70 acres of vegetation along the Foothill (210) Freeway in Tujunga.
