Just a few years ago, you would have to have a home security system professionally installed because it would need to be connected to your electrical system. However, today you can opt for a completely wireless system if you so choose.
Blink Outdoor 4 Review – Is It Worth It?
That's probably the biggest thing that attracted me to the Blink Outdoor 4 Floodlight Camera. It's completely wireless. It's battery powered, and Blink claims it has a long battery life, so you don't have to keep it hardwired into your home. The fact that it syncs with Amazon's Alexa is also a bonus.
Of course, there are many questions that arise when using a wireless home security device. One of them is how reliable it is. But we’ll get into that after we take a look at what’s in the box.
Judging by the name of this product — Outdoor 4 Floodlight Camera — I expected to receive a single piece of equipment. What I actually received was a kit that included the battery-powered floodlight, the Outdoor 4 Security Camera, and the Sync Module needed to operate the camera remotely. Of course, there was also mounting hardware, including a clip to attach it to your building without having to drill holes, and a connection cable and plug for the Sync Module. All in all, it was a little intimidating when I opened it up.
