BIOS is an initialization of Basic Input/Output System and that is why we simply call it BIOS. It is a program that is permanently stored on a chip in a computer. Programs that are permanently stored on a chip are called firmware.
BIOS is the first program that runs when a computer is turned on. It runs before the operating system (OS) such as Windows or iOS. When we say computer, we mean servers, PCs, Macs, smartphones, and tablets. It can be just about any device.
