It's a bit of a trick, but it works great
How to take a screenshot on your PC?
Have you ever had to boot from a CD or DVD and wanted to take some screenshots while in that boot environment? Maybe you’re trying to fix your computer and need to boot from the operating system DVD, but don’t know what to do. You can take a screenshot and send it to your techie friend. You can also just take a picture of the screen with your smartphone or digital camera.
Or maybe you're like me and you need really good screenshots and not the blurry or grainy or flickering screenshots you normally get when you try to take pictures of computer screens. Unfortunately, there is no way to take a screenshot of a boot environment when there is no operating system loaded. What program would you use to take the screenshot?
Fortunately, there is a way around this. Here’s what you need to do. Instead of booting the CD or DVD when you restart your computer, boot it into a virtual machine running your current operating system. If that sounds scary to you, don’t worry, it’s not that bad.
