It looks like player concerns about Termicide were justified, as Super Earth sends us back to the Terminid sector with the latest Helldivers 2 Major Order to take down the Terminid Control Systems.

The Termicide and Terminid Control Systems were first introduced on March 12th, when Helldivers 2 issued a Major Order to activate these systems on four planets: Erata Prime, Fenrir III, Meridia, and Turing. But from the start, Helldivers became suspicious about the safety of Termicide and its long-term effects. "There is no way in Hell that we don't see some crazy consequences to bombarding these planets with termicide," one player wrote that day, and they were right.
On April 29th, Super Earth issued a major order to deactivate the Terminid Control Systems on these planets, as exposure to Termicide has been linked to a “hyper-reproductive adaptation causing massive insect outbreaks.” It also created mutated Terminid eggs that we must now destroy.
Players on Reddit jokingly wrote that "no one could have predicted the long-term effects of Termicide," especially when the original Major Order was focused on quarantining the bugs for good. As we've already seen with the Automaton forces, a faction that was nearly contained is returning with more firepower, and this could mark the beginning of a new conflict with the Terminids.
