Helldivers 2 players will soon get the chance to test balance changes, seasonal releases, and content updates as Arrowhead Game Studios begins work on a staging server, despite near-constant complaints.
I ranked All Hell Divers 2 Teammates
The idea of bringing early test servers to Helldivers 2 in a style similar to the famous Public Beta Environment in League of Legends or Blizzard’s Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft Public Test Realms has been at the top of players’ wish lists for almost as long as fans have been fighting the Galactic War. Despite this, developers Arrowhead were initially reluctant to work on anything other than the live game.
Plans have since changed behind the scenes, with the Helldivers 2 team shifting their development focus to a test server. However, no release date has been announced yet.
Dot Esports understands that this backflip was partly due to the loud complaints that have flooded the Helldivers 2 community after almost every update and season in recent weeks and months. While the third-person shooter started off with near-universal praise, it has gone downhill over the course of the year.
