As you know, you can get Samples by simply searching for them on various POIs on the map. Since looting is the only way to get them, here's how to do it more efficiently:
Smaller missions like Eradicate Terminid Swarm and Eradicate Automaton Forces take place on smaller maps. Since the area to explore is relatively smaller, the chances of getting Samples there are higher. So I think it's wise to choose a map that is smaller if you want to farm Samples in Helldivers 2.
