Snapchat has made its mark on the world with its famous disappearing snaps and messages. While they have mostly shifted to sharing social lives with a larger audience in recent years, they have added a little feature for the “not-so-global” among us. Snapchat’s Private Story feature is for those of us who want to share our private lives with the people who really matter!
Snapchat's Private Story feature lets you choose the audience for your stories. While it still follows the same "24-hour disappearing snaps" concept of Snapchat Stories, you can now control who can view those stories.
You can recognize a private story by the purple ring around it and the small lock icon. Private stories only appear to those who have been added to the private story list. If a user is not on a private story list, they will not be notified of a new story. Once you create a private story, it will remain on your account until you delete it. Just like your Snapchat story, you can always continue to post to it.
