Radio controlled cars aren’t just for hobbyists, they’re also popular with kids. However, not all RC cars are kid-friendly, some are extremely large and can reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. The Holy Stone RC Cartoon Race Car is a vehicle that is clearly designed and meant for kids, from the brightly colored plastic to the cartoon character driver. Over the course of a week, we took a look at its battery life, versatility on different surfaces, and controls. Read on to see just how well it’s suited for kids.
At 5.3 x 3.9 x 6.7 inches (LxWxH), the Holy Stone RC Car is a small, round RC car made of bright red, green, and yellow plastic. It's eye-catching and easy to spot from across the room, especially with the yellow, blue-tipped antenna sticking out of the back.
The car requires three AA batteries which are placed in the compartment in the chassis. The remote control is a two-tone steering wheel with orange buttons and the same antenna design as the car. We found it to be a little too small for our adult hands, but it would be a comfortable grip for a child. The antennas on both the car and the remote control were thick but flexible, allowing them to bend and prevent injury or breakage.
