Call of Duty isn’t the most recognizable franchise for its endearing player base. From the MW2 lobbies of 2009 to the current-gen proximity chat, it’s no understatement to say it’s had its fair share of toxicity. But learning what happened when a fan reached out to his brothers and sisters for help can restore your faith in the CoD community.
my faith in humanity restored
Reddit user ALE22222222 hopped on the Call of Duty Warzone Reddit to seek help with their unique hearing issue. Our protagonist is unfortunately deaf in his right ear, which causes all sorts of issues with audio cues, spatial awareness, and the general enjoyment of Warzone. So in their hour of need, dozens of CoD fans rallied around their fellow soldier to offer some sound advice.
One hilarious comment (from user chrisdavidson152) read: "I have 2 ears, a good headset, and perfect hearing and I can't tell where the sound is coming from half the time so I really don't think it's that big of a disadvantage." I can vouch for their assessment of Warzone's sound design, and I often find myself scratching my head and wondering why I couldn't hear the enemy fighter sprinting 5 feet behind me. Another commenter offered some excellent advice: "High alertness as a perk in all your loadouts emphasizes the direction they're facing you so you're not so reliant on your hearing!"
