Valve appears to be ramping up its crackdown on cheating in CS2, as the company has issued 12 times more VAC bans than average today. The community, hungry for information on an updated anti-cheat, is now hoping that Valve’s latest and biggest ban wave will slowly come to fruition.
КАК МЕНЯ ЗАБАНИЛ VAC LIVE НА ТОП 12 МИРА (CS2)
There have been several large Reddit threads today, April 27th, about the increase in VAC bans, which at the time of writing are 12 times the average. While it's not many in pure numbers (around 130 people received VAC bans today), it is a lot considering only about 10 or less are actually getting the hammer on any given day. This pales in comparison to the VAC ban wave back in February, when Valve kicked out over 20,000 players, though the CS2 community is hoping this increase means something much bigger is on the way.
A Reddit thread from April 27 foreshadowed the VAC ban wave, saying that it “has only just begun.” One player commenting on the thread claimed to have received numerous messages from Leetify over the past few days warning that players they encountered were receiving VAC bans. “Fingers crossed Premier becomes playable again,” they wrote. Another pointed out that the raw numbers don’t seem that high because ConVars doesn’t track all CS2 accounts, implying that the true number of banned players is likely much higher.
In another thread from the same day, fans expressed their hope that CS2 will soon be rid of cheaters. "Cool, maybe it's time to revisit the game in a month or so," one user said.
