The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is almost here, but FromSoftware has warned a certain group of players about a bug that's affecting gameplay in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring Erdtree DLC Issues and Best Steam Deck Settings
Earlier today, Elden Ring released a new patch that adds several gameplay tweaks and adds support for the long-awaited DLC, but it also came with a warning. Over on the game’s official X/Twitter page, the developers identified an issue affecting the Steam Deck version of the game, causing input to stop working if your Steam Deck is left idle for more than five minutes. While an official release date for the hotfix has not been confirmed, the developers assured players that they are working on it and apologized for the inconvenience.
Judging by the responses to the tweet, reactions to the news have been mixed. Players have posted photos of error messages they've received when trying to log into the game, with some being told that "inappropriate activity has been detected" on their account or that they can't log into the server at all. For a game as popular and difficult as Elden Ring, the fact that a bug that could affect controls like this is a major problem.
However, since this issue only seems to affect the Steam Deck, it probably won’t dampen the hype for Shadow of the Erdtree. The expansion is already one of the most critically acclaimed DLCs ever made, and the hype among players is huge. Hopefully the issues get fixed as soon as possible and everyone can enjoy the DLC in peace.
