There are already a lot of gaming controllers on the market. From the more familiar options from Xbox or PlayStation to the lesser-known ones you’ll find on online retailers like Amazon and eBay, the choices we have are bigger than ever. So when the team behind the Luna Controller set out to create a new gaming controller designed specifically for the cloud, it had to be something special.
“It wasn't originally part of the plan,” Albert Penello, senior manager of Product Management at Amazon, told Lifewire in a video call.
Penello spent years working on the hardware side of the gaming industry. During those years, he worked for a variety of companies, including Microsoft’s Xbox, where he and others designed the Xbox controller. When he came to Amazon, he saw an opportunity to take that experience and create something that people could use to make gaming on Amazon’s cloud service even easier.
